Re: Leave/Vacation Time

It's also worth noting that I'm considering buy a cheapish laptop in the US, and I can probably use "having to do some work" as an excuse to get at least some coding time, but it's fair to say I will be mostly focusing on critical bugs rather than anything major during our time away.

Re: Use the TV to watch experiments you are not apart of.

I'll consider adding a video camera / TV game item combo so we can do this sort of stuff. It probably wouldn't be too hard.

Consider it officially on the list(tm)

Re: Medical... guide?

Exploratory surgery is really only useful (at the moment) if you suspect that your patient has an uncontrolled internal injury to one of their organs. The main reason you'd use it instead of just going straight to the trauma control procedure is that the stitch-up difficulty is super easy for explor...

Re: Character Creation Feedback Thread

Just as a quick note, those question marks seem to be a problem with unicode. I know I blame unicode on a lot of stuff but I'm sure of it this time. I'm actually pretty sure they're because of the crappy MySQL database editor. It seems to love inserting UTF-8 web formatting characters in there whic...

Actually Dmote gives you an addendum to your regular description. You might use it to note some minor adjustment to your usual description when someone looks at you.

Re: General Bugs

Trying to pull out X number of coins/bills from the vending machine crashes the game. There is no way to separate coins from bills, as separate entities to pay someone back, for accidental usage. I'll investigate the former. On the latter though, it's worth noting that most of the item manipulation...

I have no idea wtf happens here, but it happens when people speak. An obese, bald guy with rich brown eyes chuckles to a dark brown-skinned brute with black coarse stubble, nodding. <send href='look' hint='Language: English, Accent: with an American [/quote] That's MXP, generally the MXP negotiatio...

About Your Character

This thread is for people to discuss, ask questions and read responses about what their character knows, doesn't know, is or isn't. Try to avoid in-game spoilers if you can but sometimes you just gotta know (we're not super fussed about that stuff here, just make an effort and we're happy). I'll sta...

What Happens When I ... in the Lab?

There's no always going to be an admin there to help you out, and the code can't always cover every opportunity, so this thread is for people to post questions about whether certain kinds of actions should reasonably be expected to succeed, or how they should roleplay the outcome of trying to do the...

Clarification on LabMUD Staff

Hi everyone, Now that we're open, it's worth clarifying what support you can get from us and who is staff. Of course, Wolfsong is the Head Admin of LabMUD. I am also a Senior Staffer under her. Krelm helped us with a bit of the building and helpfiles, but he has now had his admin access revoked as p...

It probably has to do with linefeeds and carriage returns actually, if it's a Mac specific thing. I might have to do some research on it and see what I can do, as I don't have a mac I can't reproduce locally.

Re: General Bugs

As a general tip, if you post your logs in [ code ] tags in the post, it is actually fixed width text (like most MUDs) and looks nicer, also usually makes it clearer which part is the actual log.

The allies crash is something stupid, an easy fix (fixes will go in this weekend).

February 2017 Progress

Hi everyone, February has seen some good progress behind the scenes so far. I think I'm zeroing in on Melee Combat v1.0, if not Combat v1.0 as it's starting to look fairly feature complete. This month I have been working on both dragging (where individuals and teams of individuals can drag items or ...

Combat Changes

Hi everyone, I've made a few updates to combat that it would be good to test out. Ranged weapons have a slightly different process now; you no longer LOAD, AIM, FIRE, there is an additional step called READY. For a bow, this involves actually drawing on the bow and begins to drain your stamina until...

PhpBB Bugs

The latest version of PHPBB (which this forum was just upgraded to) seems to have some bugs with Chrome, specifically all of the pull down menus seem to open up without clicking on them and stay open. For now, not much I can do about it - I'll keep an eye on the phpbb forums and do an upgrade to fix...
